WE CHECK OUT PANCAKE HEAVEN

FUEL AND CO | THE VERDICT

Once a rundown old corner store, 190 Buckland Road has recently been reborn as Nundah’s newest contemporary café, Fuel & Co.

This new kid on the block is not your usual hipster-clad inner-city café, but rather a super chilled out, funky local that will literally make you feel like you’re sitting in your bestie’s backyard.

Can we please take a minute to talk about Fuel & Co’s newest menu item, the caramelised pumpkin and chia seed hotcake with mascarpone, maple and honey roasted nuts? *heart eye emoji*

Holy hotcakes, these are hands down the fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever tasted. It felt like putting a sweet tasty pillow on my tastebuds. To top it off the pancake had a crunchy selection of sweetened nuts and was drizzled lightly with maple syrup.

How did I feel after eating these pancakes? So damn chill, man. That was thanks to the homelike vibe I got from the outdoor courtyard. You could literally sit there for hours and feel right at home underneath the massive sun umbrellas.

With food, coffee and tunes on fleek, this place is perfect for a Sunday sesh. While Fuel & Co currently only serve non-alcoholic beverages, owners Maria Rowe and Darren Mcgillivray are hoping to launch a small selection of local boutique wines and beers, topped off with a kickass tapas menu in the coming months.

In the meantime, you can treat yourself to a coffee with a smooth and nutty flavour or one of their bomb AF milkshakes boasting flavours like Turkish Delight, honeycomb, cherry ripe, chocolate-peanut butter, coconut bliss, or chocolate-malted. Um, you had us at Turkish Delight milkshake.
